ENGLISH CERTIFICATES ACCEPTED

C1

C1 Advanced (previously CAE) Cambridge English Qualifications with pass grade A, B or C

C2 Proficiency (previously CPE) Cambridge English Qualifications with pass grade A, B or C

IELTS (Academic) score at least 6.5., result of writing test at least 6.0.

TOEFL (IBT) score at least 90, result of writing test at least 20

PTE Academic test with a minimum overall score of 62 and the writing test score 54 or more

Higher education degree completed in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, or the United States

Secondary education completed in English in Australia, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, or the United
States

At the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena many master’s programmes are taught in German only. Thus, students selecting a Semester in Erasmus Mobility at the University of Jena should acquire a sufficient level of German proficiency and demonstrate it to their sending University before being nominated. The University of Jena does not request a German examination certificate, but the command of German should at least meet B2 standards (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
